Coconut Socks Generation 3 What makes these socks better than the best selling previous versions? Based on user recognition that ROADGEAR's Coconut Socks were indeed remarkable performers, we aimed to find out what would make them even better. Testing and user feedback indicated the favorability of decreasing man-made content. The only non-natural substances in our socks is what is needed for the elasticized band at the top and the minimum amount required for logo and info placement, such as 'Made in the USA.' The original widely acclaimed socks had a 41% coconut content, whereas in the third generation this percentage has been increased 46% to 54% (depending on stock style) thereby vastly improving performance and cotton (for natural comfort) increased by 30% to 35%. CoconaTM yarns are made using natural technologyTM derived from coconut shells. Fiber is taken from coconut shells, a waste by-product of the food industry, infused with activated carbon from the water filter industry, which is then blended into the yarn that makes the socks. Our Gen 3 socks have the following fabric content: Cocona 46% to 54%—from coconut shells Cotton 30% to 35%—natural comfort Nylon 13% to 8%—logo Lycra 11% to 3%—elasticized band Lab Tested: Socks have undergone lab testing to back up our claims regarding odor absorbance value 25 (Minimum requirement 15), absorbency value 2 seconds (Minimum 3 seconds), Ultraviolet Protection Factor 50 and surface resistivity value 8.0E9 (Minimum Requirement <10 raised to -13). After production is completed: Socks are machine washed, given an anti-microbial treatment and a special process is utilized to activate the embedded carbon.
