SL771 Hi-Adventure Sport Tank SideBags
CAUTION: Any luggage item that is not properly secured can become a distraction to the rider, resulting in a lack of concentration and a potentially hazardous situation.
We recommend that once installation is completed, you make a test run at a low speed to ensure that the bags have not shifted around.
Before installation, clean the top of your tank and apply a coat of a good quality wax. Make sure that the bottom of the tank is clean as dust may scratch.
Place the bags on the tank. Move them front to back to find a good location that will not interfere with the rider's knees. Adjust the two top straps so that the bags stay at the appropriate height. Please ensure that the top of the bags do not interfere with the handlebars.
Locate the bungee towards the rear of the bags (one on each side.) You can either attach them towards the lower part of the frame to keep the bags from moving forward or rising up. You may also take the bungee on one side and go to the other side below the tank and hook it to the D ring on the other side. (For this method you will use only one bungee. The extra bungee can be easily removed.)
Take the bungee towards the front of the bag under the bike and over to the other side and hook it to the bungee on the other side or the D ring if the bungee is long enough. You may also be able to thread the bungee under your tank to the other side. You ll need to experiment a little to see which way works the best on your bike.
The optional rain covers must fit securely over the bags. Be sure to dry the covers before storing to prevent mildew. Be certain to detach the optional shoulder strap (if you are using one) so that it does not hang loose.
Be Safe! Check periodically that the tank side bags are mounted securely & enjoy the ride!
