Will I remain completely dry with waterproof apparel?
Not necessarily! Waterproof apparel simply implies that the garments are waterproof. Whether one gets wet or not on a motorcyle depends on a host of factors completely outside the control of the apparel manufacturer. Here's why: The apparel has openings, around the neck, sleeve ends, and the base of the jacket. In a continuous heavy downpour water gets in through one of these openings and then the liner wicks it away to other areas, and the rider feels wet at places away from the openings. This is just the nature of motorcycling, there are times when one gets wet.
So the question arises, if this is so, then why get waterproof apparel? It is because in most instances the gear will do its job (protection from the elements, safety, et al.,) getting wet just depends on weather circumstances on that particular ride.
